/ WHO IS CALLED / WHO CAN APPLY
The call is addressed to artists, artivists, activists, designers, gastronomes and creators, with the following features:
- RESEARCH AND/OR ARTISTIC PRODUCTION AROUND FOOD
Those who have conducted, or who are conducting, or would like to conduct research – or create a performance – reflecting on contemporary issues concerning food, the relationship between man and food, and the relationship between humans analysed through food.
In particular, professionals who examine consumer practices within the global Food market through art, economies, social-anthropological relationships that are created around food and through food, the effects of contemporary social discomfort, and the theme of food sovereignty. All of those individuals that want to think about and make people think about the semiotic, proxemics, social, anthropological but also and above all economical aspects that create, pass through, define and bind food to contemporary society.
- A LUCID AND ACTIVIST APPROACH
It is our intention to collaborate with professionals whose approach is both active and activist, progressive, drawn towards highlighting those fertile folds in the economy of the food market, its industrial production, targeted consumerism, and the social and environmental pitfalls of these systems acting both on a global and local scale.
- HANDS-ON APPROACH
The selected artists will be called to a hands-on approach, getting their hands dirty in the kitchen and dealing with the public/clientele. The direct involvement of the artists is a fundamental prerequisite to the “Occupy the kitchen!” project.
Note: it is possible to apply even in groups (collectives or informal teams).

La call si rivolge ad artisti, artivisti, attivisti, progettisti, gastronomi, creators con le seguenti caratteristiche:
- RICERCA E/O PRODUZIONE ARTISTICA ATTORNO AL CIBO
Coloro che hanno condotto o stanno conducendo o vorrebbero condurre una ricerca – o realizzare un’opera performativa – riflettendo le questioni contemporanee concernenti il cibo, la relazione tra uomo e cibo e tra uomini attraverso il cibo.
In particolare si ricercano professionisti che indagano, attraverso l’arte, le pratiche di consumo inserite nel mercato globale del Food, le economie ad esso correlate, le relazioni socio-antropologiche che avvengono attorno al cibo o tramite esso, gli effetti del disagio sociale contemporaneo, il tema della sovranità alimentare.
Tutti coloro che, attraverso i linguaggi dell’arte, vogliano riflettere e far riflettere circa le dimensioni semiotiche, prossemiche, sociali, antropologiche ma anche e soprattutto economiche che costituiscono, attraversano, definiscono ed afferiscono il cibo nella contemporaneità.
- APPROCCIO ATTIVISTA E LUCIDO
Si intende collaborare con professionisti il cui approccio sia attivo e attivista, progressista, volto ad evidenziare quelle fertili pieghe dell’economia e del mercato del cibo, della sua produzione industriale, del consumo “indirizzato”, delle ricadute sociali ed ambientali di tali sistemi agenti sia su scala globale sia su quella locale.
- APPROCCIO PARTECIPATIVO
Gli artisti selezionati saranno chiamati ad agire hands-on, sporcandosi le mani in cucina e relazionandosi con il pubblico/clientela. Il coinvolgimento diretto degli artisti è quindi fondamentale e fondante il progetto “Occupy the kitchen!”.
Nota: è possibile partecipare anche come gruppo (collettivo o team informale).
